As L.I.T. is completely sustained through the work of volunteers we need your help to keep the Tibetan fire of L.I.T. alive.
We offers a range of different long term and short term programs which allows people from all over the world to come to India and learn about the Tibetan situation whilst helping the local community.

There is a range of different volunteer positions available at L.I.T. which require no qualification or time commitment including teaching, web design, social work, writing and editing political prisoner’s autobiographies and newsletters.
We also need skilled volunteers to help with our open free treatment sessions. We need phyiscans to give treatments in both traditional and non-traditional medicines and healings including acupuncture, massage, reiki and other forms of treatment.
We can also arrange volunteer placements for a range of organisations outside of L.I.T. for skilled volunteers in the fields of human rights, writing and editing locally and internationally published newspapers/ magazines, teaching, web design and computer maintenance.
Skilled or unskilled we need your help to provide Tibet with a brighter future. So if you are interested in coming to Dharamsala and learning about the Tibet whilst giving something back to this refugee community, please contact us at learningandideasfortibet@gmail.com with an attached copy of your CV so we can arrange a suitable placement for you.
We at L.I.T understand that traveling to India to volunteer is a daunting and nerve racking task. So we also offer a range of programs that involve pick-up services from the airport and an orientation program when you arrive in Dharamsala.
We can arrange for a member of our staff to pick you up from the airport and organise your travel to McLeodganj. When you arrive at McLeod Ganj a member of staff will pick you up from the bus stand and orientate you with the town and then settle you into a guesthouse.
L.I.T wants to provide a place for volunteers to come and trust that they will be given a position that will make a difference to the local community whilst learning from them.
Therefore, unlike most volunteer programs where you pay huge fees for this security, with little of the money actually going to the local organisation that needs it, L.I.T. just asks for a small donation to cover the costs of this service.
L.I.T’s main aim is for people to learn about Tibet in a safe and secure environment so that they will continue to spread the Tibetan message and find solutions for Tibet’s problems but it needs volunteers help to keep their fire lit and to help them educate people. The local Tibetan community first needs to be educated in order for them to spread their stories. So come and volunteer with them and share your skills.
